Educational and Vocational Training

Education is the most critical step to preventing revictimization. Without an education the victims have nothing to sell other than their bodies. They will often be forced back into the situations from which they escaped because they have not been given an alternative.

By providing the victims with an education, they will have a series of skill with which they can earn a living.

All victims are enrolled in school according to their last completed grade level. If they are under the age of 14, they are placed at the Asoc. Nuestros Ahijados' Dreamer Center. Here they will receive a top notch education, while interacting with other children. This interaction helps the victims reestablish a sense of belonging, community, trust, and self worth.

If the victims are 14+, they are enrolled at the Asoc. Nuestros Ahijados' Scheel Center. The facility educates street kids that were forced to dropout of school. Many have only 1-2 years of formal schooling, so the Scheel Center staff uses an accelerated program in order to help the students catch up to their peers.
